AVID at Killybrooke

At Killybrooke Elementary, AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) drives our commitment to helping every student lead the race, own the road, and drive their dreams. Through AVID’s WICOR strategies — Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading — students build skills and confidence to succeed in school and life. They learn to take charge of their learning through focused note taking, academic conversations, inquiry based thinking, organization, and goal setting.

AVID is part of our schoolwide systems for leadership, behavior expectations, and social emotional learning. This creates a safe and supportive environment for all students. At Killybrooke, students are college and career bound as they grow as learners, leaders, and dreamers who are ready to meet challenges with confidence and achieve their goals.
